Bob Dylan Honored as MusiCares Person of the Year, to Receive Tribute from Jack White, Neil Young, More
Fifty-some years into his career, Bob Dylan is still racking up awards.
He also appears to be offering it, sans publishing fees, to anyone who wants to use it.
Perhaps surprisingly, Pegi Young, who leads her own band, the Survivors, will also perform.
Despite concerns to the contrary, the Bridge School Benefit Concert is scheduled to go on as planned this year.
In a new song called “Who’s Gonna Stand Up?” Young, backed by a rock band (most likely Crazy Horse) asks, “Who’s gonna stand up and save the earth? Who’s gonna take on the big machine?” Backed up by a extra vocalists, he answers: “This all starts with you and me!”
From “Trans” to “Americana,” Neil’s done some crazy albums, and nearly all of them have had some hidden treasures.
The new investment campaign has already earned $1.4 million of the $2.5 million target.
“There was such an incredible amount going on in society at the time: Vietnam coming to an end, Watergate with Richard Nixon getting found out. It was a tough time and I think the band, as human beings, were responding to what was going on it our world.”
