According to GRAMMY.org, inductees are selected by a “special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.”
The album was recorded over six shows held at Washington, D.C. venue the Cellar Door towards the end of 1970, less than a year after the dissolution of the band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
