In 1992, Love began adding to her Christmas repertoire with another classic, “All Alone At Christmas,” which she recorded for the soundtrack of “Home Alone 2.” The song – written for her by E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt – came about because the film’s director Chris Columbus wanted her to do a new version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).” As Ms. Love told CBS Local, she wasn’t interested in doing another new version of that song.
This week, E Street Band guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt will be honored by Little Kids Rock with their annual “Big Man Of The Year” award. The nonprofit organization, which works to restore and revitalize music education in disadvantaged public schools, has honored Clarence Clemons, Bernie Williams and Lady Gaga in the past.
Love had experienced a heart attack and was in the hospital for more than two days. She was released yesterday afternoon. According to the doctor, Alton saved her life by getting her to the hospital. “We caught it before it got bad and I went in and had the procedure done,” says Love. ” I’m home… and doing fine.”
