The Allman Brothers Band, Pink Floyd and The Eagles have shared space on radio station playlists for decades, but last night at New Jersey’s Izod Center was probably the first time that their members shared a stage. And yet, there they were: Gregg Allman, Roger Waters and Joe Walsh, performing not just at the same concert, but at the same time. Prince took the stage Wednesday night to complete a three-night residency at the United Center, dubbed “Welcome 2 Chicago,” and while the reviews have been positive (Tuesday night’s show), and rather negative (the first show of residency Monday night), the “Purple One” wanted to make sure the Chicago stop was remembered for all the right reasons.
Little Steven Van Zandt has been a long-time advocate of The Rascals, and now he’s trying to get fans to help him fund a reunion of the original lineup — keyboardist/singer Felix Cavaliere, singer Eddie Brigati, guitarist Gene Cornish and drummer Dino Danelli. They have not performed in public in over four decades. Van Zandt is hoping to raise $100,000 on Kickstarter within the next 30 days.
