Lisa Loves Showbiz: Ryan Reynolds Fans Out Over Tom Hanks In Critic’s Choice Awards Speech

Award season is in full effect!

Last night we had the Critic’s Choice Awards,  and this morning the Golden Globes nominations were announced.

It was all about the Ryan’s last night, Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds.

Gosling’s LA LA Land took home 8 awards while Reynolds’ took home ‘Best Actor in a Comedy’ for Deadpool.

He was at a rare loss for words after winning the Critic’s Choice Award. Clearly not expecting to win, Reynolds just looked down and saw “America’s dad” as he calls him, Tom Hanks. He then fanned out, telling the audience that his daughters first full sentence was, “There’s no crying in baseball” – a classic line from Hanks’ A League of their Own.

Speaking of Tom Hanks, no Golden Globe love for Sully.  No love for Taraji P Henson, Martin Scorsese, Anthony Hopkins or Matthew McConaughey either.

On a high note, Meryl Streep was nominated for her 30th Golden Globe nomination and will be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

La LA Land leads the nominations with seven nods, followed by Moonlight, which led in the dramatic category.

In the TV category, FX’s People VS OJ lead the way with five nominations, followed by AMC’s The Night Manager with four nods.
