It’s that time, award season! This morning the GRAMMY nominations were announced, and as expected, both Beyoncé and Adele were nominated in all three major categories – Album of the year, Record of the year, and Song of the year.
Beyoncé, picking up nine nominations, while Adele picked up five. Right behind Beyoncé, tied for second with the most nominations, were Drake, Rhianna, and Kanye, all tied with eight.
The 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards take place February 12th on CBS.
And while this guys has never hosted the Oscars before, he’s no stranger to major award shows.
Jimmy Kimmel confirmed last night that he is hosting the Oscars. Not only that, there’s more good news for the Kimmel’s.
Jimmy tweeted out, “This is not a prank and if it is, my revenge on the academy will be terrible and sweet.”
I think this is a great choice for the next host. After all, the world’s biggest movie stars are already comfortable with Jimmy, not to mention his long running funny faux feud with Matt Damon, further proving Kimmel to be the master of poking gentle fun without ever giving serious offense.
Let’s face it, Kimmel killed it at the recent Emmy Awards, that he hosted for the second time. And while this may be his first turn as host of the biggest award show, it makes sense since Jimmy has hosted a post-Oscar version of his late night show for years.
The Oscars air February 26th on ABC and nominations will be announced January 24th.
