New York Post reported a story I don’t think many people knew. Eddie Murphy was almost in ‘Star Trek’.
According to one of the writers of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Murphy was originally slated to play an astrophysicist in the 1986 film.
Steve Meerson, one of the co-writers, says Murphy was a known fan of the TV series and really wanted to be part of the movie, but at the last minute, they could not work out a deal.
The character was eventually replaced by a woman, Dr. Gillian Taylor, played by Catherine Hicks.
Speaking of being replaced, if not for Kelly Rippa, Andy Cohen might have been replaced at Bravo.
Turns out Kelly and her husband Mark noticed a black dot on Andy’s lip and begged him to have checked out. He eventually did, and that saved his life when the dot ended up being melanoma. Andy, an admitted ‘tanorexic’, is now very careful when tanning.
