The event will take place on the UCLA campus at Drake Stadium on Sunday, November 6th, 2016. With last year’s event being such a huge success with breaking the million dollar mark to help find the cure for pediatric cancer – in 2016 we hope to set new records and exceed last year’s donation high.

Head coaches of the Bruin men’s and women’s basketball teams and the UCLA Athletic Department have dedicated their support for this ninth annual event. It will raise funds for pediatric cancer research through the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation and the Cancer Research Program at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA on the Bruin campus.

This is a fun-filled day, where participants will be given the opportunity to meet the UCLA basketball teams and head coaches. In addition, other UCLA athletes will be in attendance to support the event. Participants are asked to bring their own basketball and Dribble for the Cure on a course winding through the UCLA campus. The event will feature a festival of games, autographs and pictures with players, along with food and entertainment prior to the start of the event. Each participant will be asked to collect pledges for their “dribble” and will be eligible for prizes based on the amount of pledge money turned in by the date of the event. In addition, each participant will receive a Dribble for the Cure t-shirt and goodie bag.

***************

Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation has utilized a social fundraising platform for more than a decade. It increases awareness of our mission, and it increases funding for the ever expanding footprint that PCRF is developing across the nation. Less than 4% of NIH cancer research dollars are spent on pediatric cancers. For far too long, babies and children have been receiving scaled down adult treatments that often leave survivors with lasting effects and a very high probability of additional cancers in the future. At PCRF we stand vigilant in our mission to fund research that improves the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant disease. Thank you for joining in the fight.
