Fans of the 90’s TV show “Will and Grace” will be very happy to hear this. As you know TV nostalgia is leading to all sorts of re-boots, like “The X Files,” “Full House” now called “Fuller House,” “Gilmore Girls “ and more.
This morning there are reports that NBC is in talks with the creator of “Will and Grace” to bring back that show as well. “Will and Grace” originally aired back in 1998 and ran for eight seasons until 2006.
Last month the cast reunited for a web video encouraging people to get out and vote, which has more than 6 million views on YouTube. Sources at NBC say their goal is to do a 10-epsiode limited series revival.
NBC is also green lighting another project, “Bye Bye Birdie” as their next live musical starring Jennifer Lopez. J-Lo will be live on NBC next December and she is not just starring in the musical she is an executive producer on the project as well. The role of Rosie Alvarez, whom J-Lo will play was originated by Chita Rivera on Broadway.
“Bye Bye Birdie” was inspired by Elvis Presley, the story tells a tale of a pop star and his manager who plan a contest to find the girl who gets to kiss the pop star before he goes to the army. But before ‘Birdie’ hits NBC, “Hairspray Live” comes to life December 7th starring Kristin Chenowith, Airana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Sean Hayes, Derrick Hough, Martin Short and Rosie O’ Donnell.
