You ever wonder why we haven’t interviewed Ben Affleck? This story may be why.
First let me take you back to 2015 when Ben caused a huge scandal when he demanded the PBS show, Finding Your Roots censor it’s discovery that his ancestors owned slaves.
Well he’s back at it again this time with our friend Sam Rubin from KTLA’s Morning News Show. Last week Sam said he interviewed Ben for his new movie, “The Accountant” which took place during a press junket. But when the footage of the interview was given to Sam later, he said it had been edited and some segments deleted.
Besides that, Sam says as soon as he asked a question that Affleck’s people did not like, they stopped the interview. Sam doesn’t say what the question was but does say he saw them editing another reporters interview and removing Ben’s own joke about drug use.
Sam says they basically were taking out a remark Ben actually made of his own free will because they thought people who heard it might not understand Ben’s sense of humor. After Sam did the story on air Warner Brothers tried to do damage control by sending Actress Brooke Burns, who also happens to be the wife of The Accountant director Gavin O’ Conner to see, Sam and deliver “apology cupcakes.”
He also received an apology from Ben’s personal publicist who was out sick that day and said this would never have happened if she was there.
Sam believes her, me maybe not so much
