We told you last week that actor Thomas Gibson, the star of “Criminal Minds,” had been suspended from the show for kicking a writer after the two got into a heated argument.
Well over the weekend he was fired from “Criminal Minds.” ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios said in a joint statement Friday, “Creative details for how the characters exit will be addressed in the show and will be announced at a later date.”
Thomas Gibson told Page Six in a statement, “I love ‘Criminal Minds’ and have put my heart and soul into for the past 12 years. I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. I would like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever have.”
The 12th season of ‘Criminal Minds’ will premiere September 28th. Gibson has hired an attorney to evaluate a possible lawsuit against the show and network.
For the record it’s not the first time Gibson has been involved in a physical altercation on set, he allegedly shoved a “Criminal Minds” assistant Director and was forced to take anger management classes in 2010.
And one of Gibson’s former castmates, Shemar Moore who left the show last March after 11 seasons, weighed in on the firing, we think. He took to Instagram and posted a video, which was deleted shortly after but not before it was reposted to twitter.
