LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A memorial service will be held Wednesday for a Long Beach police dog who was fatally shot while working to apprehend a knife-wielding suspect in Long Beach.
The memorial service will be held at LBPOA Park, located at 7390 East Carson Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Credo’s memory to the Long Beach K-9 Officers Association by clicking here.
Credo, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, was killed June 28 when police attempted to arrest Barry Prak, 27, who was wanted in connection with a December 2014 gang-related shooting.
During a struggle with Prak, Credo was struck by gunfire.
