LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Luke Walton was officially introduced Tuesday as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
After being hired two months ago, he stayed on as the Golden State Warriors assistant through their final loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
When asked by CBS2/KCAL9 Sports Director Jim Hill about that loss, Walton said:
“I don’t think you ever get over that disappointment to be honest. Still haven’t gotten over the disappointment of losing to Detroit my rookie year, to losing to the Celtics when they were pouring Gatorade with five minutes left in the game still when they were up 30 in Boston. You don’t get over those things but they do motivate you.”
Walton has to hit the ground running.
He has just two days before the Lakers make the second pick in the NBA draft.
