‘Star Trek’ Actor Anton Yelchin Killed In Freak Accident

Hollywood is in mourning today after a freak accident killed rising star Anton Yelchin. The 27 year old with his cork screw hair was known primarily for his role as Mr. Chekov in the successful reboot of ‘Star Trek.” A third installment due is out this summer.

Yelchin was known in the industry as being as intellectual as the Russian character he portrayed. Sadly he was found dead outside his home in Studio City shortly after 1am Sunday morning.

He did not show up for a rehearsal so friends got worried and went to his house and found him pinned between his SUV and his security gate. Police believe he got out of the car while pulling out of his driveway, and the car was found in neutral. They say it appears the vehicle rolled back and pinned him against his gate.

Cops still investigating, but don’t believe any foul play but checking on alcohol or other substances that may have played a role in this freak accident. TMZ now reporting his jeep was on a recall for gear shift issues.

“Star Trek” director JJ Abrams tweeted out, “You were brilliant, funny as hell and supremely talented, and you weren’t here nearly long enough. Missing you.”
