Bear Roams La Cañada-Flintridge Neighborhood, Takes Dip In Backyard Pool

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE (CBSLA.com/AP) — Authorities are keeping an eye on a bear taking advantage of the suburban amenities in the foothills northeast of Los Angeles.

The female bear was spotted wandering among homes in La Cañada-Flintridge on Wednesday morning, and at one point, the critter took a dip in a backyard pool.

Known by wildlife officials as “Red NO. 2”, the bear was perched up in a tree in a foothill neighborhood as of late Wednesday afternoon.

 Authorities say the expect the bear to climb down, at which point they will escort the animal back to the wilderness.
