Paramedic Allegedly Stole James Gandolfini’s Watch As He Died

It’s almost 4 years since Soprano star James Gandolfini died, and now an Italian Paramedic is on trial for allegedly stealing Gandolfiini’s Rolex watch as he lay dying in the hotel.

Claudio Bevilaqua was one of the paramedics who arrived to revive Gandolfini back in June 2013 after he suffered a massive heart attack while on vacation in Rome with his wife and son.

Bevilacqua went on trial Monday for the alleged theft, but the judge postponed the start of the trial until November. If that name Bevilacqua sounds familiar to you Soprano fans, it’s because back in 2001 in an episode of the HBO hit show Gandolfini’s  character Tony offed a guy named Matt Bevilacqua, who robbed Tony’s crew and believe or not, demanded a watch.

And just to make this story a little creepier, Bevilaqua was played by a guy named Lillo Brancato, who actually did time in real life for attempted burglary.
