In her first interview since the Michael Strahan debacle, Kelly Ripa tells People Magazine she still has not been told why she was one of the last to know about Michael’s departure, but she does have a theory.
Kelly tells the magazine, “There’s a part of me that can say okay I understand this may have been an oversight, and again after 26 years at this point we are like family, and sometimes when you’re so comfortable with somebody you may not give them the same consideration as somebody you’re not as comfortable with”.
She goes on to say, “A certain formality falls away, but sometimes stability and dependability can be misinterpreted as passive, like we don’t have to worry about Kelly she is fine. And I am fine but I still need assurance that everyone at Live will be ok too.”
She then explains why Michael is leaving the show tomorrow instead of August when he was originally slated to go. She says the only reason he is leaving early is so that she can have time this summer to find a replacement, which she says doesn’t fall out of the sky and it will take a lot of work.
