Rumors over the passing of musical legend Carlos Santana spread like wildfire Wednesday morning, but were quickly dismissed as pure hoax.
Commotion began on Twitter after Canadian Broadcasting Corporation journalist Chris Walker tweeted reports of Santana’s death on Wednesday. He deleted those tweets after discovering the reports were false.
“Tips were about another person named Carlos Santana, if you can believe that,” Walker tweeted after posting that Santana is “very much alive.”
Santana’s management squashed those rumors on the legend’s official Facebook page with a brief note that simply said, “From Team Santana: Carlos is alive and well and enjoying his morning! Thank you all for your concern, but the reports of his passing are false.”
