AC/DC Announce New Album ‘Rock or Bust,’ Confirm Malcolm Young’s Departure

Malcolm Young’s nephew Stevie looks to be joining AC/DC on a more indefinite basis, as his uncle has departed the band.

Consequence of Sound reports that the Australian rock band will release their new album this December, and original rhythm guitarist Young, who suffered a stroke in April, will not appear on it or its subsequent tour, having officially left the band.

“Due to the nature of [his] condition, he will not be returning to the band,” the band noted in a press release.

The new album, Rock or Bust, will be released Dec. 2. It’ll feature Stevie Young filling Malcolm’s role. He’ll also stand in on the band’s world tour in 2015.
