Hot off the heels of releasing her first new single “The Dealer” from her upcoming solo album 24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault, Stevie Nicks returns with another preview from the album – a heartfelt ballad titled “Lady.”
A soft piano ballad, “Lady” lets Stevie’s vocals shine through and through. Her raw and raspy vocals convey the deep emotion of a woman unsure of what the future holds for her, belting out the lyrics “And the time keeps goin’ on by/and I wonder what is to become of me/and I’m unsure, I can’t see my way/and he says, Lady you don’t need to see.”
Like all her songs from 24 Karat Gold, Stevie recorded “Lady” some time ago as a demo version titled “Knocking On Doors,” according to Ultimate Classic Rock. She breathed new life into this along with 13 other lost gems from her song vault for the release.
“Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story,” Nicks said in a press release about the album. “They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories — the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you.”
24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault will be available on Oct. 7th and can be pre-ordered on stevienicksofficial.com now.
