First he’s just hanging out on a bench outside an ice cream shop in rural Omaha with Warren Buffett, next he’s popping up at a local Hollywood comedy spot for some laughs. Everyday, Paul McCartney is proving more and more to be just another average Joe, you know besides the fact he’s one of the most influential rock stars that ever lived.
Macca surprised audience members and the comedians themselves when he showed up to catch a show at The Hollywood Improv on Melrose Wednesday night. On the stage that night happened to be renowned comedy director/writer Judd Apatow (who knew McCartney was such a fan of Knocked Up and 40-Year-Old Virgin?), who had the chance to meet Sir Paul backstage.
We don’t know all the details of this chance meeting, but here’s what we do know as told on Twitter:
Director/comedian Judd Apatow was doing a set for the Meltdown Show at the Hollywood Improv Wednesday night.

Little did he know, Sir Paul just so happened to be in the audience that night catching a few laughs.
But Judd managed to keep his cool on stage in front of Sir Paul.
After he finished his set, Judd and Sir Paul had a little chat backstage. Then comedian Jeffrey Ross joined in the conversation…
Judd himself couldn’t believe that he was actually meeting Sir Paul.
If there’s pictures to prove it, it happened, even if they are just of the back of his head.

Sir Paul McCartney, everybody. He’s just like us. The end!
