Griffith Park, Venice Beach & More To Get Free WiFi
You’ll now be able to surf the web on your laptop or upload as many photos as your heart desires without using up your smartphone’s data while picnicking at Griffith Park or soaking up the sun at Venice Beach and more.
According to Curbed LA, the LA Department of Parks and Recreation are launching pilot program of a free Wifi service at various public parks in SoCal, as stated in a press release from Councilman Tom LaBonge. LaBonge will make an announcement about the program this Thursday at 2pm at Griffith Observatory.
Six areas around SoCal are set to be outfitted with the free Wifi service, called Oh, Ranger! WiFi™, including Cabrillo Beach, Echo Park Lake, Griffith Observatory, Pershing Square, Reseda Park, and Venice Beach.
Other than supplying free public WiFi, the service will also allow users to “submit service requests directly to the Department’s construction and maintenance division,” notes Curbed LA.
