Yesterday, Freddie Prinze Jr. made headlines when he slammed his 24 co-star, Kiefer Sutherland, calling him the “most unprofessional dude” to work with.
He hated working on 24 so much that he said it made him want to “quit the business” and stop acting altogether. Well, Sutherland’s rep has responded to his comments Monday, and had only good things to say about working with Prinze back in 2010.
“Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr.more than five years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie‘s grievances,” Sutherland’s rep said Monday afternoon, according to Fox News. “Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best.”
So what made Prinze hate his time on set with Sutherland so much? Reportedly he said Sutherland was temperamental and got people he didn’t like fired from the show. According to TMZ, FOX was even grooming Prinze to take over the series, but working with Sutherland was such a nightmare, he dropped out after the one season.
However, a FOX official sings a different tune about Sutherland, saying that Sutherland was nothing but profession on set and was loved by the cast and crew.
“We wouldn’t have done another ’24’ if Kiefer were anything like Freddie described,” the official said, according to TMZ.
