For his first release since 2007′s Wanna Go Back, Eddie Money plans to get back to his rock and roll roots for a new album titled Shake That Thing.

In an interview with Billboard, Money says that he’s “written about five or six really good songs. It’s very hard rock ‘n’ roll. I don’t have the greatest rock ‘n’ roll voice in the world — I’m not Paul Rodgers, but when you put me on the radio, you know it’s Eddie Money.”

Those songs include titles like “I Ain’t No Wishing Well,” “Missing You Blues,” and “I Ain’t No Good.” Money also notes that fans won’t have to wait long to hear these new songs, saying the album should be ready for release “within the next six months.”

In addition to an album on the way, Money also reveals he’s working on reviving his hit stage play Two Tickets To Paradise, which tells the real-life story of Money and his “working class family on their journey together as Eddie rebels against them in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a rock star.”

He hopes to bring the musical, which debuted in 2009 on Long Island, back to the stage either to Broadway, or possibly for a run in Las Vegas or Detroit. Just don’t count on his autobiographical story to get the big screen treatment anytime soon.

“I don’t want to make it into a movie. ‘Rock of Ages,’ they turned it into a movie with Tom Cruise and everything and he looked ridiculous. And once they put it out as a movie the play didn’t do as well in New York. It takes the mystique out of it. So I just want it to be on stage, where it was meant to be,” he noted.
