Brazilian Fans Blame Mick Jagger For World Cup Loss
Mick Jagger hasn’t had the best track record for picking winning teams in the 2014 World Cup, and now Brazilian fans are pointing fingers at the Rolling Stones frontman for their upsetting 7-1 loss to Germany on Tuesday.
Mick was even spotted in the VIP box at the World Cup Mineirao stadium in Belo Horizonte for the semi-final match wearing Brazil team colors, much to the dismay of fans. In fact, fans have nicknamed Jagger “pe frio,” which translates to “cold foot,” a phrase meaning bad luck in Brazil, according to Buzzfeed, because every team he has ended in ‘doom and gloom.’
Mick’s World Cup “curse” has spread so far that superstitious fans were even spotted in the stands holding up cut-outs of Mick rooting for the opposite team in effort to ward off his jinx. Sadly for Brazil, it didn’t quite work out.

Previously, Mick has predicted a win for Italy over Uruguay during a concert in Rome last month, and that the former would advance to the knockout round. Italy lost that game 1-0 and were eliminated from the competition. He also predicted that Portugal would win the entire championship during a concert in Lisbon. They lost 2-1 to Ghana in the group stage.
His curse even jinxed his home-country; on June 19 the singer tweeted his support for his home team of England, and they lost that match to Uruguay, 2-1 and was later eliminated from the World Cup.
So if you’re a betting kind of person, it’s probably in your best interest to put money on the opposite team Mick is cheering on…
