Berlin’s Terri Nunn On Posing For Penthouse, Auditioning For ‘Star Wars’
This month, two female rock legends are sharing the bill for an amazing show of classic rock hits that fans won’t want to miss! Pat Benatar and Terri Nunn of Berlin are headlining an upcoming show at the OC Fair’s Pacific Amphitheatre on July 23rd.
We got one of those legends on the phone this morning; Terri Nunn joined us to talk about the upcoming show and have her clear up a couple urban legends we heard about her in a little game of true or false.
First, did she pose for Penthouse in 1977 under the name Betsey Harris? True.
“Yes. Well, I actually did it in 1976 and the hilarious thing about that is I was underage when I shot that. Actually, by the time it came out, I don’t think I was 18,” she noted.
Second, did she audition for the part of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars? True.
“Yes…George Lucas was such a great guy,” she said. “We were in deck chairs in a warehouse – Me, Harrison Ford…we had no idea what we were talking about.”
But Terri doesn’t have any regrets about not being cast in the film, because ultimately she got to do what she really wanted to in life.
“If he had put me in that movie I would have never had had this dream of music, which is what I really wanted,” she said.
In fact you can see Terri’s audition tape with Harrison Ford on YouTube:
Now she’s still living the dream by sharing the stage with another female rock icon, Pat Benatar this month at the OC Fair.
“I’m stoked. We do a lot of shows together, Pat and I enjoy singing together so we tend to gravitate to each other,” said Terri. “She’s just an icon an such an inspiration to me.”
