Diane Sawyer Steps Down From ‘ABC World News’

Anchors away! says Diane Sawyer. After five years of delivering your evening news on ABC, Diane is saying bye-bye. She is stepping down as anchor of ABC World News, announcing she’s leaving the desk at the end of August to focus on investigative reporting, primetime specials and interviews.

Diane will be replaced by journalist David Muir, who is the network’s weekend anchor and works on its news magazine show “20/20.”
