Joining us on the phone this morning all the way from New York City, the gorgeous and talented Taraji P. Henson talked to Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley about her new film, Think Like A Man Too!

Starring a hilarious A-list cast of stars like Kevin Hart, Gabrielle Union, Michael Ealy, Regina Hall and more, Taraji tells us fans will “do a lot of ab work laughing” at the sequel.

“It’s funnier than the first one,” she said. “That’s the scary thing about doing a sequel because it’s hard to outdo something that’s already good or funny, but we’ve done it.”

One of the funny surprises in the film Taraji teases is a role played by none other than Gary Owens from Laugh-In! So what was Gary doing in the film?

“He wore a fanny pack  the entire time,” she joked. “You know that song ‘bringing sexy back’? Well Gary Owens is bringing fanny packs back.”

In the movie, the original cast is all back for a wedding in Las Vegas, but things get out of control when the girls and boys try to outdo each other at their bachelor/bachelorette parties.

“I think the girls have way more fun than the boys in this one,” she said.

The original movie and its sequel were spun off from Steve Harvey’s book Think Like A Man, so we asked Taraji if she read the book before taking the role.

“I never read the book, because I don’t really want to think like a man,” she laughed.

In addition to her new movie, Taraji is also starring in a brand new TV series called Empire by Lee Daniels set to debut on Fox this fall. Empire is a family drama in the hip hop world and Taraji will star opposite her former Hustle & Flow co-star Terrence Howard.

Think Like A Man Too hits theaters today! Listen to our full interview with Taraji P. Henson in the clip below.
