Looks like LA Mayor Eric Garcetti got caught up in all the Stanley Cup excitement during the Los Angeles Kings rally Monday at the STAPLES Center, and now people are talking.
Mayor Garcetti got mixed reactions from the city after his passionate speech congratulating the Kings, in which he drops the F-bomb on live TV, went viral.
CBS LA reports that in his speech, Garcetti amped up the crowd by saying “There are two rules in politics: they say never ever be pictured with a drink in your hand and never swear, but this is a big f—in’ day; way to go guys!” all while hoisting up an aluminum Bud Light bottle.
Although the Mayor’s speech drew cheers from the crowd inside STAPLES Center, he did receive criticism from others saying his remarks were inappropriate for the public event.
He later appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he addressed his the speech saying, “You’ve got to remember, we didn’t win at lawn-bowling, I mean we won in hockey. So, kids out there, do not say what your mayor said today.”
So we throw the question to you K-EARTH 101 listeners, was it inappropriate for the Mayor to curse at a public event? Vote below.
