Family, friends and fans all around the country were saddened to hear that radio legend and voice over actor Casey Kasem passed away Sunday at the age of 82.
As the host of his longtime radio show American Top 40, fans tuned in every week to hear Casey count down the biggest hits and ended each program with his signature sign off “keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars.”
This morning, Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley shared memories of the iconic radio host and his incredible career. Gary also shared a former interview he had with him about 20 years ago where he asked Casey about how he found his distinctive voice as a storyteller.
“I think the so-called voice that I have came into being when I started telling stories,” Casey said. “When you tell a story, you use every, every ounce of vocal cord….and what it does is make your voice interesting and it makes your voice able to communicate a little better, because you got that unique quality of dynamics going for you.”
