Barbara Walters Reveals ‘Sad Love Story’ With Clint Eastwood
That was a quick retirement. Guess who’s back on TV, or at least she was last night. Barbara Walters was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night where she dished about her longtime crush on Clint Eastwood.
Almost 30 years ago, Barbara sat down with Clint, whom she was very flirtatious with. While interviewing him, it was Barbara who actually turned the hunky actor first saying, “He asked me if I wanted to have dinner … and I said, ‘No, I have to work.’ You know, I don’t mix business with pleasure.”
After realizing her mistake and that she could have been “Mrs. Eastwood,” Barbara decided to take another shot at this missed connection 30 years later. After attending the premiere of Jersey Boys, Babs has the opportunity to meet Clint once again. Here’s what she told Fallon:
“I thought maybe it’s not too late,” she explained. “I’m not kidding. I really did. I put on the right outfit. The false eyelashes — the whole thing.”
“He was … polite,” she added “He was courteous. What’s that expression? He was just not (that) into me.”
Oh well, Babs, there are plenty of other fish in the sea…
