Harrison Ford Injured While Shooting ‘Star Wars’
Looks like production for the new Star Wars: Episode VII has already hit a space bump during filming.
Harrison Ford, who is reprising his role as Han Solo in the anticipated new Star Wars film, injured his ankle on set during shooting Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury during filming today on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII. He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care. Shooting will continue as planned while he recuperates,” read a statement from Disney via THR.
According to a source of THR, Ford, 71, was injured by the door of the Millennium Falcon, Solo’s spacecraft in the original saga, when it malfunctioned and fell on his ankle.
The new film, directed by J.J. Abrams, will star newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow as well as the film’s original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film.
