Yesterday, we shared a funny video made by former LA radio DJ Poorman of him walking through Ranger territory wearing his Kings jersey to game three at Madison Square Garden. He endured brutal abuse from Ranger fans just for being a Kings fan in New York, but thankfully, he lived to tell about about the experience.
Poorman called in this morning to tell us more about the hilarious video and the experience of being one of the only people wearing black and white in an arena of blue and red. His video captures real reactions from Ranger fans as he walked through the hallway after the first period.
“These New Yorkers were not in a good mood at all,” he laughed. “That was no exaggeration. I could have had the you-know-what beaten out of me after the first period literally walking down that hallway.”
As the Kings return to the Garden for game 4 tonight, we asked Poorman what he thinks the odds are of them sweeping the series against the Rangers.
“My gut tells me that they’re probably not going to win game four, but they might come back to LA and I’m guessing they’ll win game five in LA,” he said. “But there’s no way they’re going to lose four in a row.”
