There’s nothing like a good celebrity Twitter war, and this time it’s Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet vs. KISS’ Gene Simmons.
Stonestreet went on a Twitter rant Thursday against Simmons and Paul Stanley, accusing them of being rude to his mother on a flight to Kansas, and apparently Stonestreet’s mother was on the same flight. According to his mom, the rockers were rude to her and tried to bully her out of her seat, when she said no, Stonestreet claims that Gene said that he just bought the plane and Paul called her ‘Aunt Bee.’
Stonestreet took to Instagram and posted about the run-in writing “I can’t wait to run into you two old ass makeup wearing f—s and tell you in person – you should have been nicer to my mom.”
Well, never one to keep quiet, Simmons posted an update on his Twitter following Stonestreet’s claims.
Someone posted a story which is blatantly untrue. The essence of it was that we were mean to somebody’s mother. It’s simply untrue.

Paul Stanley later tweeted “I actually waited so your mom could get off first. The rest a misunderstanding of joking. I apologize anyway. Good son.” Stonestreet responded, “Thank u for that. She did tell me you let her go first. I will tape my glow in the dark KISS posters back together now.” But it seemed Gene wasn’t budging much on the issue and Stonestreet tweeted out a sarcastic reply to the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer:
Ok @genesimmons. Take care. I assure u, I will have a stern talk with my mom about making up stories. Old people, ya know? OUR apologies:)
