The nation’s capital is planning a big Independence Day celebration this 4th of July with one of the nation’s most beloved performers. Frankie Valli will bring his unmistakable falsetto as the headliner of this year’s PBS concert special A Capitol Fourth in the heart of Washington, D.C.
Billboard reports organizers announced early plans of the big fireworks-concert spectacular Monday, which draws in thousands to the National Mall and even more viewers across the country tuning in to the special.
Valli, who led New the Jersey-based group Four Seasons to international fame with hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Sherry” and many more from the 60s and beyond, will be the night’s top act with other performers to be announced.
Valli, who just turned 80 this month, is looking to have a busy year with a tour kicking off later in May, plus the anticipated release of the Clint Eastwood-directed adaptation of Jersey Boys, which chronicles the incredible rise to stardom of The Four Seasons, on June 20th.
For SoCal residents, Valli will be making a stop at the Segerstrom Center For The Performing Arts on August 16th. For complete tour dates, click here.
A Capitol Fourth airs nationwide on PBS Friday, July 4, 2014, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM ET.
