Fleetwood Mac Working on New Material with Christine McVie
This Fleetwood Mac reunion just got a bit more real. Not only have they announced a North American tour with keyboardist/singer Christine McVie back in the fold, but they’re also in the studio working on new music.
Christine McVie, bassist John McVie, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist/singer Lindsey Buckingham spent about two months in a studio in L.A. according to Billboard. The magazine quoted Buckingham as saying that singer Stevie Nicks was busy “with some other commitments.”
Both Buckingham and Christine McVie were interviewed for the piece, with Buckingham revealing that they have eight songs that are “Very far along, like, 75 percent done.” Additionally, they have about 14 other pieces songs in various states of completion.
Buckingham joked, “Knowing me, I’m going to be pushing for a double album,” which is what happened last time the band made a record, on 2003’s Christine McVie-less Say You Will (and, more famously, on 1979’s Tusk).
