Cole Hauser On Working With Morgan Freeman In ‘Transcendence’
Actor Cole Hauser, who stars in the new Johnny Depp movie Transcendence and the TV series Rogue, joined the K-EARTH 101 Morning Show today to talk about his new film, plus competing in the Toyota Grand Prix Pro/Celeb Race with Lisa!
“We survived, Lisa,” Cole laughed about competing in the Pro/Celeb Race. “There were a few moments that Corbin Bleu, he put a little scare in me. He hit me about ninety miles an hour then slammed into a wall.”
With the Pro/Celeb Race behind him and his legs safely planted on the ground, Cole is excited about his new film Transcendence opening today. Cole joins an all-star cast including Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, and Morgan Freeman.
“Most of my scenes are with Morgan, and you know [director] Wally Pfister called me and said ‘hey, you know listen, you’re in the last twenty minutes of the movie’… and I said ‘well who else is in the movie with me?’ and he goes ‘Morgan Freeman’ and I’m like ‘I’m in’.”
So what was it like working with the great Morgan Freeman?
“He’s actually hysterical and he likes to sing a lot,” said Cole. “In between shots he’d like break into Otis Redding ‘Sitting On The Dock of the Bay’ … he’s a wonderful story teller, he’s a great actor and he’s just as good of a person.”
Cole tells us the easiest way to describe the plot of the movie is about “the movement of matter” and has a little hint of 2001: A Space Odyssey with Johnny Depp being inside a computer.
“It’s the future. It’s kind of where everyone’s going as far as the dreams of technology,” he said.
“It’s a loaded cast, it’s a great film. I still don’t know what nano-technology is,” he quipped.
