This morning, auctioneer to the stars Darren Julien joined The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show to talk about his new reality series that gives viewers a peek inside celebrity homes.
In his new series Celebrity Home Raiders, Darren and his auction partner Martin go into celebrities’ homes and find items that can be auctioned off for charity.
So what kind of items do they look for when raiding celeb homes?
“Items that are iconic to their career…at David Cassidy’s house we found his jumpsuits that he wore on stage, Gene Simmons – one of his ax guitars that he signed – so you really want the iconic items,” he explained.
They’ve raided celeb homes including David Cassidy, David Hasselhoff, Debbie Gibson, Lance Bass, Fran Drescher and even Ice T and Coco, where the model gave up a pair of her underwear for auction!
Darren explains that the celebs featured on the show are all good sports and willing participants as they search for personal items to auction off. And proceeds made from these auctions go towards a charity of choice from the celeb featured.
“This is the first [show] that wasn’t offensive to the celebrities where we could go into their house,” said Darren. “We have to keep a first class reputation.”
