Johnny Depp Must Appear In Murder Trial
Here’s a case of when life imitates art as Johnny Depp gets wrapped up in a bizarre criminal case that sounds like it’s right out of a movie plot line.
Depp was served with a subpoena to testify in a homicide case last Thursday night while walking the red carpet at the premiere of his movie Transcendence.
According to TMZ, the case involves female limousine driver Nancy Lekon, who is accused of hitting a pedestrian, dragging her for a mile and killing her in downtown LA’s Skid Row in 2009. She has been charged with murder and will stand trial this month, pleading not guilty by reason of insanity.
Here’s where Depp gets involved; Lekon told officers when she was arrested that she was involved in a relationship with Depp at the time and was in the area to meet with him. Lekon’s public defender plans to call Depp to the stand to prove that Lekon is delusional.
