Beatles Piano Used While Filming ‘Help!’ Up For Auction

First the jackets, now the piano from The Beatles’ 1965 film Help! is going up on the auction block.

Wealthy music collectors can now own a piece of music history as the piano Paul McCartney and John Lennon played while filming Help! is sold at auction this month.

McCartney and Lennon used the 1907 Bechstein Concert Grand piano to compose the film’s title song, reports the BBC. According to the film’s director and current owner of the piece, Richard Lester claims McCartney also used the piano to compose “Yesterday.”

The piano, along with the Fab Four’s jackets from the same film, are part of an auction of over 200 pieces of extremely rare Beatles memorabilia.

The piano has been valued at £50,000 ($83,600 US) by Omega Auctions and will be sold in Liverpool on March 20.
