Watch Sting Cover Beatles’ “Drive My Car” On ‘Letterman’
All this week, The Late Show With David Letterman has been paying tribute to The Beatles‘ 50th anniversary of the band’s first U.S. TV debut on the Ed Sullivan Show with special performances from artists covering Beatles hits.
The week kicked off with a tribute from indie band Broken Bells performing “And I Love Her” with the help of Ringo Starr himself. Tuesday night featured the one and only Sting doing a rocking cover of “Drive My Car” accompanied by Incubus’ Mike Einsinger, singer Ivy Levan, and Paul Shaffer on piano.
The week-long celebration continues tonight as Wayne Coyne and his band Flaming Lips will perform “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” with special guest Sean Lennon. Thursday Lenny Kravitz takes the stage with the song yet to be announced, and Friday’s tribute artist has yet to be revealed.
