Earlier this month, a major sighting of Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander filming in New York sparked up the rumor mill as to whether a potential Seinfeld reunion was in the works.

Seinfeld and Alexander were pictured in character in front of the show’s iconic Tom’s Restaurant (Monk’s diner in the show) with cameras and equipment all around. Of course the web lit up with a flurry of theories of what they could possibly be shooting; a Seinfeld reunion, an episode of Jerry’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee web series, or maybe even a Super Bowl commercial.

Well Seinfeld himself opened up a little more on the “secret project” he’s working on with Larry David to put curious fans at ease during a recent radio interview in New York.

Seinfeld does in fact admit the mystery project is a Seinfeld reunion and denies that they were shooting a Comedians in Cars episode or Super Bowl commercial. However, in true Seinfeld fashion, he teased “But, it is not not those things, either. It’s a secret project,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

He did reveal a few more tidbits about the project saying that it will be a “shortish-form” film and be a “one-and-done” thing. Alexander will indeed be reprising his famed role as George Costanza and other Seinfeld characters will be involved.

So when can expect to see the completed result of this mystery project? “Very, very soon,” noted Seinfeld.
