TMZ’s Dax Holt On Justin Bieber’s Arrest: ‘There’s No Way To Get Out Of This One’
As the story about Justin Bieber’s arrest continues to unfold this morning, the team at TMZ is hard at work reporting the latest updates as they come out. Dax Holt from the TMZ news team called in this morning to give us the latest details on the arrest and what it could mean for the pop star’s career and future.
“The details are breaking as we speak. He’s already been transported from the police station to the jail and this police report is pretty insane with him cussing at the cops, not wanting to really cooperate – when they say ‘put your hands out’ he’s saying ‘no, absolutely not. F-you, f-this’…and just being a pain in the butt to these police officers,” said Dax, noting that TMZ recently obtained Bieber’s mug shot.
Over the past few months, Bieber has been making headlines with various scandals from drug abuse to egging a neighbor’s house that caused over $20,000 in damages. According to Dax, his arrest was only a matter of time.
“This is honestly a long time coming, don’t you agree?” said Dax. “He’s been getting away with everything for so long. I think it was only a matter of time before he got arrested.”
Though the bail amount is not known at this time, Dax says that with all the charges he’s facing – DUI, drugs, drag racing and driving without a valid license – that Bieber’s bail could be pretty significant.
“He has to get in trouble. There’s no way to get out of this one. This is a big, big deal,” said Dax. “Obviously, he’s going to have good lawyers to go to court for him, but you’re 19 and you’re getting arrested for drugs and alcohol…this is a big deal.”
So what’s in store for Bieber’s future after the arrest? Dax is hoping that Bieber will finally seek help for his drug use.
“I’m hoping that this is a wake up call. His people have been wanting him to go to rehab. We’ve been breaking stories left and right about his drug use…” he said. “This might finally be a wake up call for him and go ‘oh, I’m going to lose everything that I’ve built up over the years.’”
The exact penalties for Bieber’s crimes are not known at this time, but Dax explains that “what they find in his system could also play a part in what the outcome of all this will be.”
Update: CBS Miami reports that “due to his arrest being a DUI, Bieber must remain in police custody for eight hours. Bieber’s bail was set at $2,500.”
