The Captain & Tennille Are Divorcing
After 39 years of marriage, it seems love could no longer keep them together; the Captain and Tennille are getting a divorce.
The famed music duo and real-life couple known for their 70s hit songs including “Muskrat Love” and No.1 singles “Love Will Keep Us Together” and “Do That To Me One More Time” have broken it off, according to People.
The site RumorFix first reported that Toni Tennille, whose real name is Cathryn Antoinette Tennille (73) filed for divorce from Daryl Dragon (71) on Jan. 16th in Prescott, AZ. No explanation has yet been given as to the reason for the divorce.
The duo rocketed to fame in the mid-70s for their No.1 song “Love Will Keep Us Together,” which stayed on top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for nine weeks after its debut in 1975, and later won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
The couple married on Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11) in 1974. They have no children.
