To help us celebrate K-EAGLES 101 day, The K-EARTH 101 Morning Show welcomed longtime Eagles songwriter Jack Tempchin live on air.

Jack is the songwriter behind the Eagles third hit single “Peaceful Easy Feeling” as well as another Eagles hit “Already Gone.” He told us the story of how he first hooked up with the band before they even became the Eagles.

“I met Glenn Frey and JD Souther in San Diego when they were playing a little club four or five years before the Eagles were put together,” explained Jack.

Jack has a long list of song credits to his name including writing the hits “Slow Dancin’ (Swayin’ to the Music),” “White Shoes” and many more.

“In a way, every song is like a lottery ticket that’s kind of like the ultimate thrill,” said Jack noting that he’s still writing songs for other artists “all the time.”

One of the songs that Jack wrote with Frey called “You Belong To The City” was sampled by rapper Jay Z that he remade into “The City Is Mine.” Rapper Coolio was another artist who sampled his song “Smugglers Blues.”

In addition to writing hit making songs, Jack also has his own line of wine called “Peaceful Easy Feeling” with his partnership with South Coast Winery in Temecula. Jack’s wife even painted the wine label featured on the bottle.

Jack is taking his wine in store for an upcoming Whole Foods appearance on January 26th at 5 p.m. in Pasadena on Arroyo Parkway. Jack will have his “Peaceful Easy Feeling” wine on sight to taste and will autograph bottles for fans. Plus, he’ll be putting on a performance inside the store!
