Last year, it was announced that former Beatle Ringo Starr would write an original song and lend his voice for a character in the animated comeback of Cartoon Network’s hit show The Powerpuff Girls. Now, we finally get a sneak peek at his cameo from TV Guide Magazine, who revealed the first look at the music video for his song “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.”
Appearing alongside the show’s heroines Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Starr is transformed into a cartoon version of himself and jams with the trio in the colorful tune about saving the world.
“I wish I was a Powerpuff Girl/because then I’d saved the world/then afterwords, cuddle up with a puppy or two/but most importantly spread the word on peace and love,” Starr’s animated self sings.
In the comeback episode “Danced Pantsed,” Starr plays a character named Fibonacci Sequins, described as “Townsville’s most famous flamboyant mathematician,” airing Monday, Jan. 20th.
