K-EARTH 101’s On-Air Staff’s Year-End Roundup: Looking Back At 2013 & Forward Into 2014
The end of the year is always a time to look reflect and look back at what we accomplished over the past 365 days. We asked K-EARTH 101’s on-air staff to reflect on this past year and what they see for 2014.
What has this past year meant to you and what are some of your accomplishments for 2013?
Jim Carson – Another year of filling the airwaves with The Greatest Hits On Earth! Struck up some new relationships, like my friends at Mike Thompson RV. An RV is the perfect way to spend time with family & friends.
Christina Kelley – 2013 opened up new frontiers for me in business and reconnected me with great old friends that I hadn’t seen in person in years. I was also able to see my mom more often. This year really made it clear that it’s the simple things that create the most happiness.
Well, I made it through an adventure sports accident without any major injuries, but that’s more of an accomplishment of my Guardian Angel than one of mine.
My voice acting career finally started moving on the right track thanks to my great coach Gene Cordes, seminars with Pat Fraley and Scott Brick and a lot of determination! I narrated the new audiobook version of the award nominated Sci-Fi novel World of Shell and Bone (Volume 1) now available on Audible, Amazon and iTunes. Also, this summer I entered and won a voice over contest at the industry event “That’s Voiceover” and part of the prize package was agency representation. So, after years of being out there alone I’m now with the fantastic agency TGMD. I just cut some TV ads that will run nationwide in January for the best Golden Globes red carpet show.
Oh, and I also got on top of my health in 2013 after deciding that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. So, with help from the Pacific Wellness Center in Beverly Hills I learned how to eat right for my body and lost 2 dress sizes. Being a healthy weight feels great and is going to really improve my tennis game, so watch out!
Bruce Chandler – The older I get and the more years I spend on this earth, I see how important health and family are! Good health and close family ties mean so much. It is true that parents are only as happy as their least happy child.
I accomplished Getting rid of needless things that have piled up over the years along with paying off some debts! It makes me feel a lot lighter!
Dave Mason – Learn how to say “Baby” the way Shotgun Tom says it. Drive on the 101 Freeway doing 50 in the morning rush.
What is your outlook for 2014?
Jim Carson – Things are looking bright musically, with more from the 80s.
Christina Kelley – A killer tennis game.
Bruce Chandler – Very positive! After working six days a week for so many years, I’m enjoying the freedom of making my own hours now and not having to get up early in the morning to the sound of an alarm clock.
Dave Mason – Enjoy the family more.
What are your resolutions for 2014?
Jim Carson – More golf, more music, and more camping.
Christina Kelley – No white-water rafting. No potatoes.
Bruce Chandler – To enjoy every day and continue to appreciate even the little joyous things in life that occur each day. I want to take as many mini-vacations as I did last year. My wife and I loved going to Vegas, Santa Barbara and the beach areas in 2013 and more travelling by car is what we want to do. We’re free to hit the road any day of the week :-)
Dave Mason – Meet more K-EARTH 101 listeners. Meet Sandra Bullock. Learn how to avoid distrac…(“ooh….butterfly”).
