Today on ‘Tickets @ 2′ it’s the one that started it all for the Eagles, “Take It Easy.”

Jackson Browne started writing the song for his first album, but didn’t know how to finish it. At the time, he was living in an apartment in the Echo Park section of L.A., and his upstairs neighbor was Glenn Frey, who neede songs for his new band.

Frey heard Browne working on the song, and told Jackson that he thought it was great. Browne said he was having trouble completing the track. When he got to the second verse, Frey came up with a key lyric: “It’s a girl, my lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowing down to take a look at me.”

The rest is history, Fry got co-writing credit for the song.

When we play it between two and three we’ll take caller #7 to win a pair of tickets to see The Eagles perform that and others live next month at the Forum. Call us at 1-800-232-KRTH.(5784) Good luck!
