If you love Bruce Springsteen and have some extra cash lying around, then you have the opportunity to own a piece of Springsteen history. Sotheby’s is auctioning off an early handwritten draft of the lyrics to his 1975 hit “Born To Run” on December 5th.
According to Rolling Stone, the notes from the auction house say the draft was written by a 26-year-old Springsteen in West Long Branch, New Jersey in early 1974. Most of the lyrics from the early draft never made it into the final version of the song, but it offers a rare peek inside his working methods and thought process of his songwriting.
The draft is expected to fetch between $70,000 – $100,000 at auction. Springsteen also just announced a brand new album High Hopes due out on January 14th.
