Bruce Springsteen To Release ‘High Hopes’ Single November 26
Bruce Springsteen posted an announcement on his official website, heralding the release of “High Hopes” on November 26. There’s no word as to whether this is a one-off single, or from a forthcoming album.
“High Hopes” is familiar to Springsteen die-hards; he previously recorded it for the Blood Brothers EP, which was released in 1996 along with the film of the same name, which documented Springsteen’s brief mid-’90s reunion with the E Street Band. (The EP was included with the VHS of the documentary.)
According to Backstreets, the song was originally recorded by Tim Scott McConnell in 1987; he later re-recorded it with his band the Havalinas in 1990. It was included in some of Springsteen’s set lists at his recent tour of Australia; Springsteen was rumored to have spent some time in the studio during that leg of the tour (which featured Tom Morello filling in for Steven Van Zandt on guitar).
